From Russia with love...

I bought this dress back in March and back then I was unsure about the length but recently I have really been loving midi lengths and this dress has really come into its own. At one point I did shorten it but because of the asymmetrical hem it just looked plain odd so I merely removed the 'Wonder Web' to return it to it's former glory...

Dress: ASOS via charity shop,  faux fur stole: H&M, belt: vintage Laura Ashley, boots:Carvela at John Lewis
I really love the midi length, I think it is perfect for this time of year and the boots give me some much needed height so I (hopefully) don't look too stumpy...

The fact that it is quite fitted also helps to avoid looking like I have pulled on the nearest sack as a dress but unfortunately it's not the most flattering after having scoffed down a huge meal... ah well, food before fashion! ;)

The warm browns of the fur stole and my favourite vintage belt looked fantastic against the rich wine colour and I felt very Russian with the fur (don't ask me to explain why!)

My beloved bobble hat had to suffice as I have not yet managed to lay my hands on one of these cossack style hats... I'm sure my local Topshop had a dark brown one but I can't see it anywhere online, so I'm not sure if I imagined it?

Would you wear a knitted midi dress? Have you got any hats for winter?

I've got that stole! my dog keeps on trying to steal it though, she is so sneaky. I've got my panda hat from last year but I'm not much of a hat person, too worried it will mess up my hair ;) x

I love this outfit, the dress is such a gorgeous colour. The length really suits you, makes me want to be brave and try out midi dresses!
I'm not usually a hat person, but I bought a lovely fake fur hat from the H&M mens section which I will definitely be wearing this winter!

This dress is gorgeous, you look fantastic in it, it really suits your figure :) I think I saw a grey version on the ASOS site last winter, I was tempted but figured I'd not wear it, regretting it now! Get yourself to Primark if you want hats - I have loads thanks to their cheapy price tags :)

That colour looks gorgeous on you and I love the faux fur stole with it! I should wear hats more in winter but I hardly ever do as when I take them off my hair looks crazy! x

Love this dress, the colour is beautiful. I usually skip past all things midi length in the shops but this looks great on, especially with the fur stole! x

I love the new layout Maria! My computer likes it a lot more than your old one- for some reason your last layout was really slow to load on mine! Anyways, loving the fur stole and that gorgeous cranberry colour :)

the midi dress is beautiful, the colour is lovely plus it's so very flattering on your figure! i wish i could wear body con dresses and skirts, i just feel a little uncomfortable to do so right now. but i'd just love a body con pencil skirt to add to my wardrobe! xx

This looks gorgeous on you Maria! It clings in all the right places! I'd never have the guts to go for something like this; I'm quite a strange body shape, very up and down with NO bum, but a relatively fairly chunky middle so I think it would just make me feel uncomfortable. This suits you so much though! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad
