Exploring the Cotswolds from The Fish in Broadway...

I can't resist a boutique hotel when we go away and as this anniversary was a pretty special one (10 years!) we headed to The Fish in Broadway to celebrate. The Fish couldn't have been more different to Malmaison in Oxford where we went last year but we had such a nice time and it was so relaxing. We both let out a huge sigh of relief when we arrived and all of our worries just fell away. Apologies for the picture spam, but everything was just so beautiful that we couldn't help but take pictures!

Amazing card: by Mark, flowers:Peony, bag: Radley
I was very spoilt with my presents and I absolutely loved the card, Mark is so clever! It is always tricky to know what to get Mark but I think he was pretty pleased with his Lego Millennium Falcon! ;)

I need this sofa for our house!
We stayed in one of the superior double rooms (fancy!) in the stables which was absolutely gorgeous! The view from our window was gorgeous, all blue skies and rolling hills... I didn't manage to get a picture of our window seat but trust me when I say I spent most of the weekend curled up admiring the view!

We were welcomed with this lovely note which I thought was a really nice touch!

I loved how calm and chic the whole room looked, I loved the Scandi style furniture and I wanted to steal all of the soft furnishings too!

The whole hotel was giving me some serious interiors inspiration, I need these amazing cushions from the bar!

After we had got settled, we got all dressed up and headed for dinner in the newly-opened restaurant. The menu is fairly limited (perfect if you are as indecisive as me!) but full of delicious locally sourced food.

We both opted for steak...

...followed by a very delicious dessert! Mark opted for the (huge) apple crumble and custard and I had a delicious pile of cheese to enjoy!

Despite the rain, it was a beautiful evening. Be warned though, that drive is steep, especially in heels! ;)

Breakfast was included in the price of our room and what a spread it was! I am a massive fan of anywhere that offers cheese and ham on a buffet and the cooked breakfast was divine!

We wanted to visit Broadway Tower (it's the Cotswold's highest castle dontcha know!) whilst we were here so followed the hotel's circular route up to the tower and down into Broadway.

The beautiful views from halfway up the drive...

Top:H&M, hoody: stolen from Mark, jeans: River Island, boots:Betty London c/o Spartoo, sunglasses: Accessorize, tired face: model's own
The drive was beyond steep so I had to take a few breathers on the way up!

Feeling pretty pleased with ourselves as we traipsed through the woods! Parts of the path were ridiculously steep but luckily the ground was dry enough that we didn't fall off the edge!

We found this topograph about halfway to Broadway Tower and it was really cool, who knew that Tewkesbury and New York were so close to each other?! ;)

Once we got to the tower, we refuelled with a quick drink and nosy around the gift shop before heading down the hill towards Broadway

The fields were full of lambs, we couldn't work out how these ones stayed so clean because the adult sheep were disgusting!

Refuelling with a ginger cream tea at Leaf and Bean- it was unusual but very nice, definitely one to try at home!

A quick change before another delicious dinner!

This pork belly was absolutely divine and it was so tender that the meat was falling apart on the fork, definitely worth trying if you pay a visit!

Passion fruit tart with mango sorbet and peanut and chocolate brownie. The desserts were absolutely humongous so definitely leave room if there's something that takes your fancy!

With a final breakfast, we sadly bid farewell to The Fish and headed back home. On the way back we called into Chipping Camden and spent a couple of hours exploring, no mean feat when nearly everything was closed for the bank holiday!

Have you stayed in the Cotswolds?
P.S. If you are looking for a laugh, there's some hilarious old school photos of the two of us from a few years ago!

Gorgeous post, and I love the photos. Looks like you had the best time, it really is so lovely there. I love that they had wellies you could use too (all the small things!)
I think we've got great minds on where we stay, with this and the Kings Head....where's next? ;)

Wow! What lovely photos. 10 yrs = happy anniversary! Beautiful countryside and the food looks so good too. I'm so glad you had a great time.
I'm not near the fires in Alberta, Canada, as I'm in B.C., but the fires are horrific. Northern B.C. gets fires every year too but not as huge as the Alberta one. Happily the evacuees are being taken care of in other towns.
I love your blog!
