At whorl's end...

Yesterday was quite a bizzare day. I went to the cinema with my mum, sisters, brother and two of my great-aunts to see the film Nativity! at the Vue cinema in Worcester. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as some critics loved it and some hated it. I can categorically say that I absolutley LOVED it! It made me laugh and cry and wasn't overly sweet which is always good! I think it helped that I could relate to a lot of it after going to Catholic schools all my life. It helped that it was based in Coventry, right next to where I live when I am at uni. :) It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I really like it and the soundtrack is on Spotify too! :D I recommend that next Christmas, you should DEFINITELY watch it as it is a little "pocket of stardust!" :)Does anyone else always want to sleep after they have been to the cinema? Normally, I go in the evening so I can, but yesterday it was a fairly early showing so we had finished by lunchtime- it really confused my body, that's for sure!

After we got back in the afternoon, my sister Catriona and I decided to go for a walk as everything looked very pretty when it was frosted over. We are lucky to live in a really picturesque area and the views from our house are lovely :)

The field by the river was completely frozen on the lower ground and it was REALLY slippery. I was too scared to stand on it but Catriona was a LOT braver than I was...

It was really strange seeing the contrast of the fiery orange sun and the frosted white of the ground. The sun set really quickly when we were out and we had to take some pictures before the light completely went.

Now I am supposed to look like my sister...what do you think?

Ooh look I made a friend!

AWOOOOO!

"You've got a..moustache" "Yeah, I know....!"

It was so nice to come in afterwards and eat tea... Cumberland whorls in batter- basically Toad-in-the-Hole :)

Have any of you been out in this frosty weather? What are your favourite foods to eat when it's cold?

The morning after...

...requires a healthy breakfast at a reasonable time...well, one out of two isn't bad! In the first photo, you can just about see the remnants if our feast from New Years Eve, the lovely Lucinda and Dan turned up with PLATES (and I mean PLATES!) of food... homemade chicken nuggets with a lemon mayonnaise, little vegetable blinis, mushrooms stuffed with garlic cream cheese, and my personal favourite, the most gorgeous rosemary bread in the world It was all literally mouth-watering, and as always, dear Cindy catered for the five thousand! I love the fact that you can also see me shuffling around in the first photo, wearing Mark's grandad slippers :P I was also listening to BBC Hereford and Worcester- my guilty pleasure!

What did you lovelies do for New Year? Have you made (or broken!) any New Years resolutions this year?

NYE 2009

I don't think I can write anything that will do justice to the lovely evening I had. I got to see my best friends,Sophie and Cindy for the first time, in probably over a year and meet Cindy's lovely boyfriend, Dan. I got to meet up with some (very!) old friends, and make some new ones, I laughed so much my stomach hurt. I drank my new favourite drink and ate some amazing food. And, best of all, I have some very happy memories from both 2009 and 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
