"It's my birthday!"

As you may have guessed from my overexcited tweets and Instagrams over this weekend, it was my birthday yesterday. I turned the grand old age of 24 and celebrated by spending 3 days eating and drinking with my nearest and dearest, what better way can you think of to celebrate?!

Some of my lovely presents - can you sense a theme here?!

My birthday cake was bigger (and even tastier!) this year. No-one can beat my Grandma when it comes to baking cakes :D
Making a wish...
This French Connection dress was perfect for the massive meal we had the other night, you can't go wrong with stretchy jersey ;)

Even Google wished me happy birthday!

Flaming shots at the Jekyll and Hyde bar in Birmingham, I will definitely be heading back here next time I am in Brum, the cocktails were amazing

Thank you for all your lovely messages, I had a really awesome time!

Peplums, green and leopard print...

Bright colours have long been a favourite of mine and bright green is definitely up there with the best. This peplum top was a gift from a friend and I have fallen in love with it, I adore the colour and the textured material makes it a lot more interesting. Paired with leopard print accessories and some skinny jeans, this was the perfect mid-week boost...I love the fact that the cows are back too, can you see just how massive Eric the bull is?!

Top: Tu at Sainsbury's via Matilda, jeans: Topshop, belt: New Look, shoes: Clarks flat shoes c/o Spartoo
Now it is getting sunnier, I am embracing lighter make-up and softer hairstyles. My macadamia hair oil is nearly finished now as I have been using it nearly every day. I just wish I could find something to make my hair grow down rather than out, it has been this length forever now!

I really shouldn't like peplums, I certainly don't need inches adding to my hips but there is something about them that I just love. This top may be my favourite one yet, even my beloved tweed peplum top can't compete!

More leopard print love! These shoes have rather fallen out of favour recently but they are perfect for jazzing up plain trousers and I can see them getting a lot more ear as the weather warms up- ponyskin's no good when it's raining!

P.S. This post was done in collaboration with Spartoo

Sunshine dressing...

When it's rainy and grey outside, you have two choices. One, dress in a cosy outfit and curl up on the sofa or two, get jazzed up and brave the outside. I tried both of these and I have to say, whilst I wasn't as warm, this outfit felt a lot more fun.

Blazer: H&M, top: Dorothy Perkins, skirt: New Look, bag: Miss Selfridge, shoes: New Look,  cow: free with view
When I saw this lemon yellow beauty reduced in New Look, I snapped it up, I am obsessed with anything yellow at the moment and this is the perfect shade of lemon. [They don't have this skirt on their website but they have one which is equally lovely]

I thought the dash of hot pink would lift this from being too serious and add a bit of colour to a very gloomy day... Plus pink and yellow are my favourite colours at the moment so it seems fitting that I am featuring them  both in one outfit!

As you can see, the skirt itself is very sheer, despite being lined, so I pulled out my trusty slip to make it decent. I'm not sure quite why it was so see through but I thought I would rather be safe than sorry!

Some much needed height provided by these shoeboots, I only ever seem to wear them with maxi skirts!

I love stackable rings, I always used to feel awkward when I wore lots of jewellery piled up but Danni introduced me to the wonder of stackable rings and I have never looked back... not bad for 80p in the sale eh?!

Do you prefer cosy or colourful in the rain? What are your favourite colour combinations?
P.S. I now have Pinterest and I am addicted...
