Rome: The eternal city... (PICTURE HEAVY!)

Rome is a city I have always wanted to visit and I was lucky enough to be able to when I was  in Italy. Obviously I had a list of all the touristy spots I wanted to visit but mainly I wanted to just soak up the atmosphere and appreciate the history that infused every building. We visited when it was 40°C  which meant that we only saw a little bit of the city but I threw my coin in the Trevi Fountain which means I am definitely coming back! We spent the majority of our time in St. Peter's before heading to a little pizzeria for lunch and then jumping back on the Metro to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.

♥ It is traditional to touch St. Peter's right foot and it has been worn down by years of use.

♥  We found Cardinal Griffin, a relative, named on this inscription

♥ Police in a golf cart! (They didn't look particularly impressed!)

♥  Spanish Steps

♥ My brother is standing two steps below me and I'm on a wall...FML

♥ Being harassed  by a man trying to give me flowers...He wouldn't take no for an answer!

♥ A tiny plaque honouring the Communist resistance fighters in WWII

♥ The Trevi fountain: tucked away in a little piazza. Perfect for an ice-cream and hand dabbling, anything more and the carabinieri blew their whistles at you!

♥ St Peter himself

♥ Having my Roman Holiday moment!

♥ Just so you can see the sheer scake of the fountain...

♥ Throwing in my coin to ensure that I will visit again :D

Which cities do you want to visit? Do you like sightseeing?
