Rose tinted glasses...

Whenever I wear jeans I feel like I am 18 again, trotting off to college brimming with that dastardly mix of excitement and insecurity. Years of never being able to find a pair that fitted left me disheartened and I swore myself off jeans for about 2 years. I first broke with these second hand flares, then these berry beauties and now another pair have wormed their way into my affections. Say hello to the Topshop Kristen jeans that have stolen my heart...

Top: Warehouse via charity shop, coat: Dannimac (from my Mum), jeans: Topshop, boots: Carvela via John Lewis
This outfit felt like classic 'capsule wardrobe' fare (which I normally avoid like the plague) but I loved its mix of practicality and warmth on a chilly Autumn day.

I paired the jeans with my current favourite top/boots/belt combo to ease myself back into wearing jeans without feeling too self-conscious and I have to say I was pleased with the results. I know the majority of you are probably rolling your eyes at your computer screens right now but JEANS SCARE ME, so wearing them and enjoying it, is quite an achievement!

In my head, the fact that they were high waisted made me think that I had legs like a supermodel but sadly, these pictures have proven otherwise! I must have had my rose tinted spectacles on that day :P

The detailing on this top is quite something, on the hanger it looks a bit 'blah' but when you put it on, it makes you feel like a million dollars... MAGIC.

I still can't get over how gorgeous the cathedral is in Worcester!

Outtake of the day: I was so excited to see statues (on a cathedral nonetheless!) that I forced Mark to take a picture of me with them, secretly I think it's because they matched my coat....

What clothes scare you? Have you ever sworn off wearing certain items of clothing?

It has to be the RaRa skirt. I own two and for a while, back a year ago or so, many places were stocking them (H&M mainly). I loved them and wore them constantly. Looking back, I look about 12. I've hidden them in my waredrobe. They'll only come out on very special occassions. Lol. Love those shoes - ah I love em!

I don't think there is anything I can't wear, but there is plenty I shouldn't wear! That cathedral is lovely, the coat and shoes are lovely xo

I love jeans!! They're my favourite, even though I spend more time in dresses and skirts these days.

Your jeans look incredible, and your legs look great! They fit so well.

I've sworn off cropped jeans/trousers/anything that comes down to below my knees. They look dreadful on me.

I'm scared of jeans too! Although I recently got a black pair which I have been loving a lot. I tried these ones on in Topshop but they just seemed so tight! Damn chubby thighs! Although I did really like the high waist on them.

I really love your coat, I need a new coat and am thinking it'll have to be camel coloured! I'm not a big jeans fan recently as seems to be so hard to find a good fitting pair, yours look lovely though! x

Lovelove your outfit Maria! The jeans look perfect with little boots and a hint of skin showing (soz, that sounded so dodgy!) and the hem of your top is so lovely (: What a beautiful cathedral too! The only clothes that scare me are polo neck tops, you know those ones they made you wear for PE at school? I have a weird half-phobia of those collars touching my neck hahaha! xx

Those jeans look fab on you. I have to admit that recently i've had a bit of a penchant for wearing jeans again. I haven't bought jeans in years as it was alaways such a pain (nothing fitted my small waist :: wide hips ratio) but now it seems like many more high street stores are catering for the pear shape, woop! xxx
