I saw this dress on ASOS ages ago and loved the floaty sleeves so when it came into the sale, I snapped it up immediately as I knew it would be perfect for wearing for work. When it arrived it was longer than I expected (when will I realise that ASOS models have much longer legs than me?!) so I realised that heels would be needed to prevent dreaded 'stumpy leg syndrome'...

You can see my haircut slightly better in this photo, the slightly dazed look is due to the fact that these pictures were taken at 5.30 am before I started work, I'm not the best at waking up early in the morning! The necklace is made of gorgeous bronze coloured knots and is the perfect length to wear with a high neckline...
A more difficult length is balanced by my old favourites, my leopard print belt and red nails...
The best part of this outfit though was definitely the tights, they definitely add a sense of fun to any outfit!
What do you wear to work? How would you make a midi dress more wearable?

I love this dress, perfect for work and the colour is beautiful. I have a couple of midi-dresses for work and do find them a bit harder to style than my usual knee-length ones but heels definitely help! x
It's such a lovely dress. I love the colour so much. And your lipstick is beautiful!
Oh wow, I love this outfit on you! I really love the necklace - it's so pretty :) ♥

Ewww... 5am! You look so put together for first thing in the morning, if I have to get up before 7 then I always look like I've crawled through hedge backwards. I love this length on you, such a lovely jewel colour xo
I love midi dresses for work, great length for me if I'm shelving books of pulling leads out behind computers. I tent to wear knee length things or shorts with tights so I'm not worried about flashing ;) xx
so pretty, fabulous in blue dress.

Love this outfit! The tights are great but my favourite thing is the necklace. It's so unusual to get jewellery in that coppery shade and I think it's lovely!

I think I have grown to like midi lengths, although I do find I have to wear them with heels or I can't cope with the length and feel like a kid dressing up in mother's clothes.
I love the unexpected dotted tights, they really help to jazz the dress up!

I love this outfit. I have quite a few midi skirt that I dress up with my brogue style heels. I have similar tights to those as well. With the heels I don't think your dress is too long at all :) x
I love midi lengths, and they really suit you! xo
you look foxy, that dress has some serious va-va-voom! xx
This shade of blue looks lovely on you - really suits you. xx
That dress is beautiful on you! Totally agree though - asos modals are giant size!
*models even!
Ah you pull off a midi far better than I! I actually sae you tweet this outfit (text not a picture) and was looking forward to seeing the post, the dress is such a nice colour and I love it with the leopard print : )
xx
This is going to sound horribly superficial, but one of the things I'm looking forward to about having a 'proper' job is being able to wear proper clothes, because at the moment I am just wearing whatever clothes are floating about (read: jeans/leggings, Tee/lightweight jumper).
Loving your dress, you seem to carry the midi length really well, and the heels are definitely great.
one word: wow!
Ooh this dress is lovely, I also have a similar belt that I'm pretty obsessed with ;)
You look fab, the tights and dress work so well together! x
I absolutely adore this outfit. The dress and the way you've accessorised it is just perfect.
I have a work uniform so can't wear pretty clothes like this :( x
