Nude and pin-up inspired...

Anyone looking at my blog titles recently could wonder what kind of site they were on but there is no better way to describe this outfit. It has to be one of my favourites from the holiday and it was the perfect mix of comfort and effort...

Jacket: Miss Selfridge, top: H&M, shorts: Urban Outfitters, shoes: Marks and Spencer.
This top has to be one of my favourites but it is starting to thread and get all worn so I desperately need a replacement... here's hoping H&M will read this!

I picked these shorts up when I bought my blouse from Urban Outfitters and they are so comfy. Now the detailing is gorgeous, they have buttons all down the leg, but my favourite part has to be the elasticated waist. Granny-tastic and perfect for when you have eaten your fill of knickerbocker glories and ideal for throwing on over a bikini for the beach.

Nail varnish: 'Percolated Pink' by Max Factor.

Owl themed? It's going to be coming home with me!

Shirt: Marks and Spencer
As I am a complete and utter doofus, I managed to spill said knickerbocker glory down the front of my cream blouse so I had to swap my top before heading to the beach. I can't believe how much wear I have gotten out of this shirt, originally I bought it as a work blouse but I love it knotted with a skirt or a pair of shorts for maximum pin-up potential! Paired, as ever, with my favourite tan loafers...

What do you wear to the beach? Do you have an unusual fashion favourite?

I have to link to my new favourite blog 'A fine day for sailing' too, I absolutely LOVE Islabell's style and spent all of today scrolling through her archive. Such beautiful photography and fabulous style :)

Great beach outfit! I'll always be a dress and sandals girl for the beach. As for an unusual fashion favourite, that would probably be my octopus necklace. Loving your owl bracelet! x

I spied those beauties in your last post but I didn't see the button detail and anything with an elastic waist has a thumbs up from me. I actually adore the way you mixed prints after spilling ice cream down your front, sometimes mistakes happen for a reason. ;)
Looking good!!!
xxo
p.s. I haven't had a knickerbocker glorie for years you are taking me back to my childhood woman!!

Love the look, especially since you added a pretty great jacket. I love the H&M top. I have a similar one, but hardly ever worn it.

oooh i love the shirt tied up in pin-up style! i think the tie waist shirts and high-waisted shorts is the cutest summer style! I usually wear denim shorts and a little tank top, or a loose dress to the beach.

Aaaah, looking very much the pin-up indeedy. Loving the shorts and shirt and those shoes are awesomeness no matter how much I see them!

I spill stuff all the time- such a clumsy inelegant oaf! Today alone, I've spillt diet coke on my jeans, my mineral powder on my cardigan, washing liquid on my jeans and just to top it all off, my cheeky v&t is now all over my arm....

Golly anything with an elsaticated waist is a win, I always change into my pjs after a big meal purely for the stretchy goodness

It's actually those first shoes that caught my eye Maria! Though elasticated = win win, I eat SO much on holiday, all of that foreign food is so tempting! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

What a cute little owl! ^_^

Love the relaxed but smart look of your outfit, the nudes look great with a hit of pattern! I really like your nail polish colour too.

Awh amazing outfit, I love both but shame about spilling knickerbocker glory down one shirt (it's still a tasty treat!)
Also, that owl charm is adorable :D
