Miss Moneypenny...

I always used to feel like a bit of a cop out when I posted about what I wore to work but I figured I spend 5 days out of 7 at work and my blog is supposed to reflect my every day life so I'm afraid you have many more of these posts to come! (Sorry, not sorry) I have been wearing a lot of my sheer blouses for work recently and trying to make them a bit more office appropriate!

Dress: Next, blouse:Zara, necklace: Topshop, loafers: Office
One of my colleagues remarked that they thought I looked "a bit Miss Moneypenny" in this dress and I can see what she means. The wiggle shape definitely reminds of something that someone from Mad Men would have worn to their office in the 1960s...

I have had this blouse from Zara for a few years now but it has only been worn a handful of times due to the shape. It is almost tunic length, but the panel above the hem is gathered in such a way that the fit is downright bizarre and rather unflattering, when I attempt to wear it with slim trousers, so I tend to layer it with skirts and dresses instead. I probably shouldn't have bought it as it is not particularly flattering and yet the colour and print made me throw caution to the wind.

Wearing 'Percolated Pink' by Max Factor and a much loved ring which I found in the bottom of my handbag.

Would you wear 'unflattering' clothes just because you liked them? Can you make sheer blouses office appropriate?

Loving the ring too, adorable!

I love those colours on you. I quite like seeing your work clothes, it seems a little bit more genuine than just pretty, floaty dresses xo

LOVE that dress, fits perfectly and you're right it is very Joan Holloway.
I wear a mix of denim shorts and tshirts to work on days when I'm moving boxes and doing dirty work in the book stores or dresses and a cardigan on days when I have meetings. Don't get the oppoutunity to be that smart really :(

Don't be sorry for posting what you wore to work, it's nice to see things like that too & these colours are great on you! I know what you mean about odd fits, I'm a sucker for interesting fabrics & I often buy things that are unflattering just for the fabric they're made from! I think go home & chop them up or take them in! ;)
