The perfect cosy Friday outfit...

Not the most inspiring of post titles, I admit but it is difficult to describe this outfit in any other way! Last Friday I trekked down to London for the BBC WDYTYA show as my company was running a stall there and we were taking it in turns to help man it. This was the first time I had ever been to a trade show or anything like this and I didn't have the foggiest idea about what to wear. In the end I went for cosiness and a smarter version of my usual Friday outfit of jeans and slobby jumper.  I figured comfort was key when spending the whole day on your feet or travelling! I wish I had worn a proper coat rather than my jacket though as it was freezing, even on the Underground, and I was turning a fetching shade of blue...

Jacket: La Redoute via charity shop, jumper: Tesco, shirt: Monki, trousers: Monki, shoes: Office, awkward pose: model's own.
As I left an hour later than normal for work it was just starting to get light so I was able to snap some photos outside which was super exciting. I much prefer photos taken outside, I think the light is so much nicer! This jumper is my favourite cosy layer at the moment, it is such a nice bright colour and unlike some of my super chunky knits, I don't boil in it as soon as I go inside. I only wish I hadn't paid full price for it as it is now in the sale :( If you do buy it, which I totally recommend that you do, size down at least one size as it is pretty big otherwise.

You can just about see my favourite patterned blouse poking out too - this Carrie blouse was an impulse buy from Monki a while ago, which is perfect for adding a splash of colour to a work outfit. I really love the print on it; it has everything from moustaches to the letter 'M' (always a winner for me!) Another well-loved part of my Monki collection! Is it wrong that I want the blue polka dot print too?!

What are your favourite cosy outfits? How do you add colour to a work outfit?

Seriously in love with your shirt, Maria! I'm not going to lie, I'm such a monochrome gal at heart, but can't resist a burst of red recently, in Taylor Swift style! (:

Cosiness is the best! I LOVE that mint on you, it suits you so much. My cosy outfits tend to involve lots of denim and super thick socks haha!
