Making wedges wearable...

Whenever I am nervous about wearing a particular item of clothing, I pair it with old favourites in an effort to tone down whatever it is I am scared of. My Topshop wedges are a bit 'out there' and I wasn't sure how well they would go down at work but I figured that a Friday was the perfect day to try them out. I have worn them quite a few times since I bought them and they are really comfy, I think they will make perfect  dancing shoes! I can't see these black ones on the website but they have the grey and brown pairs which also look pretty nice...

This is pretty much this outfit with slightly snazzier shoes but it just goes to show, even fashion bloggers wear the same outfits repeatedly ;) I was lucky enough to visit the Herbert Museum and Art Gallery a couple of weeks ago with work (which is absolutely amazing by the way and well worth a visit!) and this necklace was a sneaky purchase from the gift shop. I love unusual jewellery and the Herbert has an amazing selection from local artists and I'm guessing most museums do. Much cheaper than Topshop and supporting local craftspeople, what more could you ask for?!

I told you these were jazzy!  I love the gold buckles and the wedge is just high enough to make my legs look longer without causing me to topple forward a very real possibility when you are as clumsy as I am!

How do you wear things that are out of your comfort zone?

These are an awesome pair of wedges! I sometimes think of wedges as being a little frumpy but these are anything but! I try to push myself out of my comfort zone from time to time...it's hard to do, but teaming the item with an old favourite makes it so much easeier!

I love these so much! I like to push myself to try new things, even if I feel a little uncomfortable at first, after a day wearing it I'm all good.

Oooh, I love how ornate the design on the buckles is.
Also can't go wrong with a nautical outfit! I love the stripes with the red! xx

Oooh, amazing wedges! I am exactly the same with new items or styles; pair them with old favourites (which for me is generally skinny jeans) :). I also really love your blazer!

Love those wedges. I can't really wear heels much these days accept for wedges as I do too much walking and find them uncomfortable. Definitley a great idea to get jewellery from local artists, I always love finding accessories that are a little different from the high street.

Also, those wedges are INCREDIBLE. The kind of thing I'd never be brave enough to wear myself, but they look FIERCE x

That is such a great idea to pair a new or out there item with an old favourite. I totally must keep that in mind. This is a really well put together outfit. I particularly love the bright red.

I tend to wear the same of very similar combinations of outfits all the time - some of which have funnily enough made it on the blog. Goes to show how 'real' you are - it made me think the other day that I'm sure most other people would be quite happy revolving their outfits wearing the same things yet for some reason I've always had this inclination to form new outfits. Anyway, I digress. The shoes look great toned down the way you've worn them - they add a little something to the otherwise simple outfit. I don't go too much out of my comfort zone, for me, at the moment it's the occasional wearing of a pair of super high heels!
