Leafy print dress...

Finally I have managed to get some pictures with my new hair for an outfit post! My wardrobe has been struggling recently with the heat but luckily I have just enough summer dresses to keep me clothed. This dress is one of those that I have been trying to get rid of for years but never quite managed. I love the print and the length of it is perfect but it sometimes looks a bit frumpy, I think it's the empire line? Usually a belt would solve this problem but the waist is far too high and it just looks weird with one, maybe a jazzy necklace would help instead?

Dress: Principles, cardigan: Tesco, shoes: c/o Spartoo
A better  look at my new haircut! The style itself isn't that different but the hairdresser took about 3 or 4 inches off the end. It was quite a shock when I saw all the hair on the floor! So far I have been letting it dry naturally and brushing it out - I'm preferring soft waves to crazy curls right now!

The empire line also bunches really weirdly on the chest- I'm not having much luck with dresses and their bodices recently! The pattern on this reminds me of an Orla Kiely print; leaves and a muted colour palette are right up her street!

How would you de-frump an empire line?

I don't think this looks frumpy at all - au contraire, I think it's a really flattering cut on you, makes you look v tall! Your new heair looks lovely too, all shiny and healthy :) x

Have to say again how beautiful your hair looks, so healthy & shiny! I have to admit, I'm not a great fan of empire lines for that exact reason, plus I have a tiny chest so they look even odder on me! I think the print on this one is so you & totally stops it from looking frumpy, so don't worry! :)

Don't get rid! It's lovely, I have a few pieces of clothing that have literally been in the reject pile countless times, but always end up back in the wardrobe to live another day xxx

It doesn't look frumpy at all. I usually use colourful tights, cardigans and jewellery to steer away from the frump factor, or sometimes I chop a bit of length off the dress so that it hits just above the knee. It somehow freshens the look a bit more.

you have such a great, ladylike dress collection Maria. Great seeing the new hair...it is so sophisticated! Is this honestly what it looks like brushed out and air dried? Give me your hair! I need serious fringe styling tips but loving the change as well.
I really like the dress's shape on you!

Your hair is just lovely Maria and your dress is really lovely despite you not being so keen on the empire line.
