Fuss free dressing...

Now I know that a embroidered smock dress with panniers is hardly what most people would classify as 'fuss free dressing' but for me, this French Connection smock dress is super easy to wear, especially when paired with my beloved leather jacket! I would definitely count all of these pieces as building blocks for my 'capsule wardrobe', even if they would be completely out of place in someone elses! Unfortunately, after these pictures were taken, we had an incident with the washing machine. This dress (and many other favourites) is currently with Mark's mum who is trying to turn it back to cream, rather than the pink shade it came out of the wash as *sob* Apparently the washing machine may be plumbed in wrong so I am now paranoid about washing anything delicate in the machine :(

Jacket: New Look, dress: French Connection, shoes: Orla Kiely x Clarks
I'm not sure why, but I look really unsure in these pictures. I love this bright lipstick, it was another Tesco bargain and can brighten up even the dullest Autumn morning. This may be an unpopular opinion but I can't wait for the colder days, hopefully then my radiator-like temperatures won't be quite so ridiculous. Summer is pretty hellish when you are as warm as I am (I even overheated in my leather jacket when I wore this outfit!)

I told you I loved these shoes! They are just deliciously chunky and add the perfect amount of 'stomp' to any outfit. It's no mean feat to toughen up such a saccharine dress! My legs look super tanned in these pictures, which I love. My pasty pale legs make even natural looking tights look super brown on me which is no bad thing!

How do you do fuss-free dressing? Any tips on how to avoid washing disasters?

This is an old post of mine but I basically live in Black Milk Clothing and my version of fuss free dressing is one of their skater dresses, stockings (in summer I wear really sheer ones because I hate bare legs!) and flats. In winter (like here) I add thicker tights and a cardigan, usually boots. Fuss free at its finest

If I feel fancy I wear a belt or makeup but normally my staple outfit is a Black Milk dress, stockings and flats. I'm a completely fuss free person!
And I LOVE the way you styled your little smock dress, it's not something I'd wear until I saw you dress it up with the heels-that-aren't-really-heels and the cute jacket. Adorable :) xx

Looking lovely as always Maria! I totally agree about the colder temperatures, I'm forever over-heating and can't wait to go out in a coat without having to rip it off after two minutes because it's too hot! As for scarves...forget it haha!

Oh no, that really is a wardrobe disaster. I really hope yiu can et it back to white as I love winter whites.
My idea of fuss free dressing, is a some denim and my leather jacket. It's easy, but I always feel stylish!

Such a lovely little combo! :) I guess fuss free dressing to me is something I can throw on in less than a minute haha! ;)

Love this dress! I use Milton (baby bottle sterilising stuff) on my vintage lace stuff to whiten it - might be worth a try! x

Oh NO! It can be so heartbreaking to lose clothes in the wash. A H&M cami recently went grey on me. I feel your pain! Thank God for Mother in Laws hey? My M-i-L would do the same and has saved my dresses many a time! Phew! xx

Owww I'm so sorry about your washing machine mate, that sucks :( I remember some knob shrunk a load of my clothes at uni, I never forgave him! You don't look unsure at all, so pretty! <3 Claire @ Jazzpad

I guess my attempts at fuss-free dressing are things like flat shoes, tights and a casual dress.
