Stripes look better with (a) tan...

This dress was a bit of an impulse buy from H&M but when I got it home and tried it on, I fell in love. It's the perfect shape for me and I loved the bold stripes too as I always think navy and white look so chic together...  I wore this outfit when I travelled down to Brighton (consisting of a bus journey, 3 trains and a 3 hour car drive!) and I can testify as to how comfortable it was even if the wind did cause me to have a few Marilyn moments!

Dress: H&M, cardigan: Mango, belt: H&M, shoes: New Look, handbag: ASOS, weekend bag: John Lewis.
As you can see, I paired the stripes with all tan accessories, mainly so I could wear my fab new shoes from New Look. I bought these at the same time as these babies and they are so comfortable! I was inspired by the lovely Amy when I bought these as she always looks so fab in her tan loafers and you can't go wrong with gorgeous leather shoes for £25!

I have had this weekend bag since December 2009 and it has more than paid for itself... I am ashamed to show you the original post where it was featured as the photos are so bad but I guess it shows how much my photos have improved since then!

After having my haircut, I'm always worried about whether I will be able to style it or not but luckily it has proved fairly easy to maintain and I am loving the lighter style for summer!

Hello freckles!
Do you have any new favourites in your wardrobe? What do you wear to travel?

Super cute dress - I like! Love it when an impulse buy works out. I always travel in comfort but try to keep it looking good - thin layers and maybe a jersey based dress.

I love the stripes/tan contrast! Tan accessories always make an outfit more interesting and vintagey, I think. I'm so jealous of how bouncy your hair looks! I'm getting mine cut in a couple of weeks, tempted to get some layers cut in like yours! xx

That dress is stunning - may have to go have a look round H&M!

I think a jersey dress is a great item for travelling in - no wrinkles and so comfy!

Ah you cant beat New Look for shoes! Bought two pairs today :)
My new wardrobe faves are my new pink jeans, I bloody love them! I do so much travelling recently too and have learned to pack super light, so my favourite weekend away accessory is my big Marc B handbag - just enough room and easy to carry! Xx

I love that dress with the tan accessories, it looks fab! I think H&M is really good for basic comfy dresses and skirts.
That weekend bag is gorgeous, I really need a good weekend bag rather than having to use a massive suitcase all the time!

That dress is wonderfully chic, and super-versatile. I'd love to see it with mega-bright shoes and accessories too, but tan is a great everyday look!

Rather liking the tan and stripes madam. The dress is gorgeous and looking rather fabulous.

Tan is my new favourite since getting my new tan handbag. I have some tan shoes that are really on their last legs, but I love it with my breton striped top or with black, navy or anything really. After a tan-ish pair of chino tipe trousers next!
