Forties inspired...

This dress is a fairly recent addition to my wardrobe and I picked it up because I thought it would be perfect for work. I love the bright red colour and the classic tea dress shape reminded me of a 1940s tea dress. I always seem to wear floaty dresses on windy days and this was no exception- I almost took off a few times, haha!

Dress: ASDA, belt: Primark, shoes: New Look
The cat eye sunglasses and red lips added to the retro feel of this outfit and I did feel pretty glamorous wandering around town. This is such an easy outfit and it's my go to for those days where I don't know what to wear...

I have been trying to do more with my hair recently and I keep twisting up into a bun for work as there is nothing more annoying than your hair on your face when you're trying to work is there?!

Do you like wearing retro inspired looks? What decade do you look to for inspiration?

Looking lovely, the print and shape really suits you :) Seriously though, where is that sunshine? All I can see is rain, rain and more rain?! :( xx

I love this dress, I spotted it in Asda myself but the boy didn't like it so I resisted, stupid men! xxx

I love your hair up, it gives me a headache when I put it up so I have my hairin my face when I'm trying to type grr.
I like a lot of 90s looks, quite grunge inpired but I also like 50s glamour and classic cuts x

Loving the fourties look on you and I do love a nice tea dress- depending on cut!

I'm also a bit in love with the fifties inspired shapes that have been popular- longer versions of the skater styles and anything with a fitted wait/bodice and looser skirt is great for me and I'm hourglass in figure.

I'm completely addicted to the net ring I bought from Primark for putting my hair up. I get so annoyed with it in my face all the time and I really like a simple bun, right up on my head. Might seem boring to some, but there's something about classic simplicity... a bit like a classic dress style...

I love the print on this dress! I always seem to end up wearing floaty dresses on windy days like today also nearly accidentally flashing everyone walking along haha!

Very cute! you definitely pull off the look! Love tea dresses, how can you not!! They're just so easy to wear and so feminine! I love wearing vintage myself, I'm obsessed with 50s silhouette actually! Thought I'm trying to wear more of 60s and 70s lately!

Gorgeous! I think I've said it many times before, but seriously, you suit this glamorous retro look so well! And loving the cat eyes, they're my favourite shape of glasses, so flattering!
I love retro inspired looks on people who pull them off well. I never like to go too retro myself, but as I love quite masculine looks, I often take little bits of inspiration from all the lovely tailoring of the 40's & the teddy boys & girls of the 50's!
