Bouclé blazer and a Breton tee...

I was really keen to share this outfit, it is one of my favourites that I have worn recently but my exploring Cheltenham post was getting a little overcrowded so I thought I would save these outfit pictures for a separate post (lucky you!) These photos were taken with Mark's phone and they came out rather well I think! This was perhaps a bit work-y for a lazy Sunday but I loved all of the separate pieces so much that I ended up including them all in one outfit post instead... I've ended up looking like a flamingo in these pictures, I promise its my dodgy posing skills rather than a bad Photoshop job ;) As you know, I am a massive fan of bouclé and although this jacket isn't available anymore, there is a very similar one from ASDA here...

I look a bit like a bird who has just discovered a camera in a David Attenborough show here, I'm not entirely sure what I was doing, haha! I am wearing MAC Lady Bug in these pictures but I blotted it down as I wanted a more subtle look. I really like the colour but the Lustre finish always feels too slippery and I always worry it looks a bit clown-like on me too, what do you think? I finally got some better pictures of this fab H&M top too, it's definitely one of the best Breton tees in my wardrobe!

I picked up this gold cuff in the Accessorize sale a month or so ago and I love how chunky it is. The fact that it makes me feel a bit like Wonder Woman is just a bonus really! You can't get it on their website anymore but this simple gold cuff is equally lovely...

Are you a bouclé fan? How would you style this blazer?

Printed pyjama pants...

I know pants is an American term but it fits so much better than trousers in this situation! Jazzy trousers are one of those things that I love on other people but was never convinced by them on myself, until recently. I picked up a couple of pairs of printed trousers from Matalan and they are so comfy! I have been wearing them for work and at the weekend and their lightness makes them perfect for the warm weather we have been having. I love their slimline shape and the elasticated waist is just a bonus in my eyes ;) I have been loving longline tops and cardigans recently and Matalan came up trumps with this gorgeous white blouse. I had been looking for one for a while and I really like how simple this one is. It does have fluted sleeves but it was still pretty chilly first thing so my cardigan was definitely staying on!

Cardigan: gift c/o Matilda, top: Matalan, camisole: Tesco, trousers: Matalan, shoes: George at ASDA, sleepy face: model's own

This cardi was a gift from my friend Matilda and it is such a gorgeous colour. I have worn it so much that it has developed a hole though so I am trying not to wear it as often. The morning light has been so pretty recently and it is massively flattering too! None of my lipsticks seem to be quite the right colour recently so I have been layering up colours to get the perfect shade. This was a mix of Max Factor Ballistic and my bargain red lipstick from Tesco to get that slightly deeper red. The one problem with moving is that I won't have such pretty backdrops for my photos, I will miss all of this green space!

You know how much I love red, white and navy together and the print on these trousers is ace. You know I have a pretty relaxed dress code at work but the navy definitely helps to smarten these up although I'm sure they'd be equally at home on the beach! I wasn't sure which shoes to pair with these as I don't have many pointed pairs but these nude shoes were a safe compromise, at least until I can get some red pointed heels...

Any tips for where to look for some red pointed heels?

Casual coral...

From sleek to super casual, I can't seem to make up my mind about what I want to wear to work! We have all had those days when we feel rubbish and this was the perfect comfy outfit. This jumper was another gift from Matilda and has become my go-to for when I want something easy and breezy to wear. Although I wouldn't normally wear something so oversized, I love the short sleeves and bright colour. Coral is my favourite colour to wear in the spring and summer and it is perfect for adding a splash of colour to a grey day (just look how miserable this weather is!) The one thing I'm not so keen on is how short in the body it is as I have to find another top to layer underneath it but maybe I just have a weirdly long torso?!

Jumper: Gap c/o Matilda, top: Primark, jeans: Topshop, trainers: Keds

I had my hair cut again but this was how long it had got before I went for the chop again, I couldn't believe how quickly it had grown! I have been experimenting with hair products more recently and both Percy & Reed's Wonder Balm and Umberto Giannini Scrunching Curl Friends have been top of my list. My hair has always been prone to frizz and these are perfect for smoothing out my flyaways- I would definitely recommend them to my fellow curly/frizzy haired gals!

It's been a while since I have worn my Keds but the colours matched this jumper perfectly and they are just so flipping comfy, I spent the whole day bouncing around the office! I am heading to Edinburgh for a few days in a couple of weeks and I will definitely be taking a pair (or two) of my Keds with me, they are the best shoes to wear if you have to do lots of walking... Speaking of Edinburgh, do you have any recommendations of things for us to do whilst we are there?

Which colours can't you resist? Any recommendations for things to do in Edinburgh?

Lazy days...

The other day I was feeling absolutely awful. Flu has been going round the office and I was feeling very sorry for myself. Unfortunately my jazzy pyjamas are not acceptable office wear so I had to resort to my comfy jumper and jeans combo instead. This Seasalt jumper was given to me by my friend Matilda and I absolutely love it, it is ridiculously comfy and oh so soft, just like getting a hug. Paired with some comfy jeans, I was good to go! I always umm and ahh about including outfits like this in blog posts but then I figure this blog is all about the ups and downs of my life and wardrobe so causal outfits should be up there with the fancy dresses amirite?!

Jumper: Seasalt from Matilda, top: Primark, jeans: Topshop, shoes: Dorothy Perkins from Matilda

I have been having issues with my hair recently, it has grown at an alarming rate and thanks to the volume of it, I now have triangular hair, the one thing I was afraid of when I went shorter :( I am getting it cut on 3rd May but until then, any help would be appreciated! You may have spotted my lovely initial badge here, Claire at The Bellwether was kind enough to include it alongside the cross-stitch kit she sent me (I am making slow but steady progress!) and I absolutely love it, anything with my initials on is sure to be a winner in my book! Red lipstick is my go to for brightening my face up when I am tired and this Tesco sheer lip stick is ace, I can't find it on the website but have a look instore, I managed to pick this up for £3!

These shoes were also a gift from Matilda, I love having a friend who is the same size in clothes and shoes, I get all kinds of awesome clothes! ;) I'm not sure what happened with this photo, it looked fine on screen and then looked massively overexposed when we transferred it to the computer. I really need to work on my photography skills...

What do you wear on lazy days? Can you recommend any good photography tutorials?

Teal...

Teal is a colour I really love and it is moving from my soft furnishings into my wardrobe . This blazer was from Matilda (I love having a friend who is a similar size to me!) and it has quickly become a firm favourite in my wardrobe. Imagine my excitement then when I realised it matched my teal suede shoes, you really can't beat a bit of matchy-matchiness! Jeans and a stripy tee probably wasn't the most exciting way to wear this blazer (I am imagining it will look awesome with my Hawaiian print dress) but it was the perfect way to jazz up a Wednesday! I'm not quite sure what is happening with my face in this picture but I promise I was a lot more enthusiastic about this outfit than I look here...

Blazer: from Matilda, top: H&M, jeans: Topshop, shoes: Marks & Spencer
I love the three-quarter length sleeves and the material was really comfy. Usually I end up taking off my jacket as soon as I get into the office but this lasted until after lunch- a new personal best for me!

When I first got these jeans I loved them but I haven't been so impressed recently. The inside seam on the left leg has unravelled and I constantly have to hoick them up. I'm not sure if it is because I sized up when I bought them, the fact that I have lost some weight recently (whoo!) or because they are quite stretchy but they don't fit properly and they have been driving me mad! I did buy a new pair of jeans in the ASOS sale and I am loving them so far but I want some that are less stretchy and more denim-y- any recommendations?

These shoes are one of my favourite pairs, the colour is really bright and as they are from M&S, they are ridiculously comfortable too! I think the straps make them really unusual and they always get a load of comments when I wear them. I really should wear them more but until now I never had anything to match them with, hopefully you will be seeing a lot more of these on the old blog over the next few months!

What colours have you been wearing recently?

Rusty...

Sometimes it feels like I have been blogging for years, days become weeks and sometimes inspiration is sadly lacking. As a blogger, there are hundreds of photos stored on a hard-drive, just waiting to be made into posts, some don't make the cut, due to a bad angle or less than flattering pose and others probably should  have been consigned to the recycling bin on your desktop. It is interesting how blogs offer a slice of your everyday life up for perusal and yet we insist on everything being 'just so' rather than showing what you actually wear or do on a daily basis. This outfit is one of those that I wore on an ordinary day at work and although it isn't particularly fashion forward, I really like it. It is funny how our wardrobe reflects how we see ourselves and actually sometimes, what you wear doesn't have to be 'an outfit', it can just be a nice dress...

I guess what I am trying to say is that recently I have been more introverted and my clothes choices are reflecting that ;)

Dress: Gap (via Matilda), blazer: Clothing at Tesco, necklace: Topshop, shoes: c/o Spartoo
This dress came from the wardrobe of my friend Matilda and the length and colours meant that it was love at first sight. I  think I suit Autumnal colours and I love all the different colours in the pattern and the gorgeous scalloped layers of the skirt.

I even managed to match my lipstick! I am wearing the Max Factor lipstain in the corally orange shade which adds a lovely bright colour to lips, topped with my beloved Ballistic lippie!

Rather boringly I went for grey accessories and the length of this blazer was lovely with the knee-length of the dress. This Topshop necklace was also a nice lengthening device, something I am always keen to do with my (rather stumpy) frame!

Owl-bert the door stop is looking pretty sad at the moment!
I love these heels and I am wearing them with yet another Autumnal outfit here! They really are the perfect height to wear all day and the grippy sole meant that I didn't fall flat on my face- perfect for when you are trying to stay incognito!

How long have you been blogging? What do you do to stay inspired?
