Prawn and green vegetable noodle soup...

This is so simple you can barely even call it a recipe, I first made the bare bones of this (noodles and stock)  at uni when I had absolutely nothing left in the cupboard except some stock cubes and a pack of noodles  (I think we've all been there at one point!) and I always go back to it when I want something quick and easy to eat.

(Not) those infamous H&M trousers...

No, not those lovely floral print trousers (as worn by Kristabel and many other bloggers) but rather a rather jazzy pair which I bought them for £7 in the sale as I was completely seduced by the gorgeous turquoisey colour but I have worn a total of 2 times, despite owning them for 2 years. A gloomy Sunday required something to brighten it up so I thought these would be perfect...

Trousers: H&M, top: H&M, jacket: Miss Selfridge, shoes: M&S, bag: Monki
I kept the rest of the outfitsimple so as not to look too crazy in Morrisons [although I still did get some funny looks!]

I really need to find a replacement for this top, I wore it to death through uni and as it's polyester it has got really bobbly and it has almost completely disintegrated :(

This is supposed to be a washbag but it is the perfect size for a little clutch bag, I want one in every colour!

Wearing these trousers was very freeing. I felt super confident in them too, I suppose you have to be if you are wearing the world's most attention seeking trousers! I seem to have a thing for H&M's trousers recently but when they fit this well, why would you want to change?!

Would you wear printed trousers? How would you style them?

Graduation, a VERY picture heavy post!

So this is it, university is finally over. My graduation on Monday started off very rainy but ended up sunny and warm, lovely for my parents, not so great for me sweltering away in my robes. I swear those things are like ovens! Apologies for the picture heavy post but it is easier for me to send this link round to all of my relatives than email all of these photos ;)

Luckily Mark graduated on the same day as me so we got to take our photos together which was nice. He got a BSc Hons in Physics... he is far too brainy!

Some of my coursemates waiting for our department photo...

Obligatory hat throwing shots...

I think this may be my favourite part of the day, my parents bought me a Warwick graduation bear and he is seriously the cutest thing ever, you can see how excited I was!

Mark's family and me.

My parents, who do you think I look more like?

Mark and certificate...

More hat shots!

Bachelor Bear off on an adventure with the Koan in the background...

Just look at his little mortarboard and scroll!

Mark and (some of) my family.

I call this my 2.2 hat! ;)
I had a really lovely day and I will show my outfit and food (it is worthy of its own post!) in another post as this is already far too many photos for one blog post! It was so nice to spend the day with Mark and it was a fitting goodbye to a wonderful three years.

How did you celebrate your graduation?

Florals and stripes...

This dress is one of the key pieces in my wardrobe and I have already raved about the pattern and fit but I always try and find different ways to style it and I really like the blue for a more summery look and when the weather warms up a bit more I will definitely be pairing it with my favourite New Look sandals!
Dress: H! by Henry Holland, belt: charity shop, shoes: Nanette Lepore for Keds.
I have had these shoes for about 4 years now but I have never actually worn them outside of the house. I bought them on a whim for £4 in the Office sale because I liked the pattern but have never actually managed to wear them. They have been on my 'to sell' pile for years now but I have been loath to get rid of them because they are just so pretty!

I finally decided to match them with this dress as the blue is similar enough that it doesn't clash too much. Jen has talked about mixing prints before and I love stripes and florals together! I am definitely going to wear these shoes more often though as they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn. My parents are big fans of Keds shoes and these may have persuaded me to check out some of their newer ranges...

These shorts from H&M have become a cult favourite in the blogosphere and they have proven themselves well worth the £6.99 I spent on them. It means that I can wear all of those dresses that are just that little bit too short without tights in the summer too.

What are your summer staples? Are there any items in your wardrobe that you find difficult to wear?

As you are reading this I will be on my way to my graduation, I just hope I don't fall flat on my face or make a fool out of myself...wish me luck!

Wheat fields and daisy dreams...

Sometimes I am amazed at just how beautiful it is in the area where I live. I love the buzz of cities like London but give me rolling fields and pretty flowers and I immediately feel like I am home. My sister and I were looking for somewhere to take some outfit pictures when we stumbled into a field near to our house. I have only ever seen it in the winter when it is muddy but today it was like walking into a 1970s Laura Ashley catalogue. There were daisies everywhere. Of course, like a true fashion blogger, I threw caution to the wind and we managed to snap some photos in this gorgeous setting.

Dress: H&M via charity shop, shoes: Dorothy Perkins, necklace: Accessorize

There must have been thousands of daisies in this field! The smell was absolutely heavenly but unfortunately there were also hundreds of bugs :( In my haste to escape from a particularly menacing beetle I managed to stumble straight into a nettle patch... not my finest moment!

Apologies for the chest shot but I had to show you my gorgeous necklace. I have never really subscribed to the idea of a statement necklace but this may have converted me! It is one of the heaviest pieces of jewellery I own but it is my favourite piece at the moment. The colours match perfectly with this dress and I can't wait to pair it with my various bright summer shorts!

As it was warm  yesterday (finally!) I wanted to keep my hair off my back so bundled it up with some clips and added a cute daisy to make it a bit more interesting. I was quite pleased with the finished product and it was so easy to do, I will definitely be experimenting with some ribbons and plaits too now that my hair is long enough to actually do things with! I need to try and decide what I am doing with my hair for my graduation too, any ideas?

Is there actually anywhere prettier than this?

How did you have your hair for your graduation? Are you a country or a city gal?

Guess what? It's another floral maxi!

That's right folks, I'm back with another floral maxi dress! I picked this little beauty up in H&M, figuring that it would be perfect for my holiday and I am totally in love with the print and colours- you really can't go wrong with neon floral print! Maxi lengths are a favourite of mine at the moment and they are perfect for this weird transitioning weather we are having at the moment too...

Dress: H&M, jacket: Principles, belt: vintage, shoes:New Look, bag: Miss Selfridge
The one issue I have though is the length, I know it's a maxi dress but this dress was literally sweeping the floor [niiice] before I tied it up at the bottom. I'm hoping I can persuade my mum to shorten it for me as I am pretty lethal with a pair of scissors as I just don't know when to stop chopping (as many dodgy fringes will  testify!)

The colours on this were a perfect match for my blue shoes and belt, lovely accessories that are often passed over for something less challenging (i.e. nude or black shoes!) I love it when an outfit comes together and this one made me feel elegant and apparently I even looked taller, no bad thing in my book! I also painted my toenails for the first time in about 2 months and the hot pink shade was the perfect complement to the dress. I will definitely be taking this away with me...I have the most perfect black floppy hat to pair it with too!

Even my hair seemed to behave! I am sad to announce though that my beloved bag has in fact died. The clasp broke less than a week after I bought it and needless to say, I was not impressed! I didn't repurchase it as I didn't want it to happen again but rather put the money towards something else * which I am very excited about sharing with you!

This rather lovely card popped through my letter box not long ago from my lovely housemate Lisa. I have finished uni with a 2.2 (I was SO gutted to be 1.25 marks off a 2.1!) and this post marks the last photos taken by my beloved brick wall. I have had a fantastic time at uni despite my many health problems and although I am slightly disappointed with myself I am optimistic about the future :)

Do you have any summer essentials? How do you cope with disappointment?

* This something else is a rather  lovely sale purchase from none other than Topshop...see if you can guess which dress it is!

Life skills...

As uni draws to a close, the worry about adjusting to 'real life' looms even larger. It is impossible to know how easy the transition between uni and work will be but luckily I have a few things working in my favour. So many people I know don't know how to cook or clean or even how to open a bank account but luckily my parents equipped me with these essential life skills and hopefully this will make it a little bit easier for me...

Dress: Tesco, coat: Antoni and Alison via T.K. Maxx, cardigan: Mango, belt: New Look, shoes: New Look,  bag:  ASOS
I have had this Tesco dress for a couple of years now and I originally paid £7 for it but I wore it so much that it actually wore through in certain places and the belt almost came off. Luckily my mum and grandma taught me how to sew when I was younger so with a bit of work I was able to patch up the holes and reattach the belt. It may seem like a small victory but it was a triumph nonetheless. I saved money on replacing a much beloved dress and proved that I could look after myself

These photos were taken next to a churchyard near to my house and provided a more unusual location than my usual brick wall backdrop. These ruins were once a gatehouse and I don't know how tall people were in the fifteenth century but even I struggled to walk through the doorways and I'm only 5'4"!

The gorgeous reddy colour of the bricks looked lovely with the tan colour of my bag and I thought it looked quite cute perched up on this ledge!

I am also considering whether to get my hair cut again as it just seems to be a bit unruly at the moment but I like the fact that I can tie it up when it is warmer...I just don't know what to do!

How did you make the transition between uni and work ? What skills do you think are essential?

This week has been...bittersweet

L-R: James, Lisa, Mark, me, Harry and Danni
This week I finally finished my exams and I don't think it has quite sunk in yet. I haven't been quite as ecstatic as I was last year but I think that is because it is all happening for the last time. Saying goodbye to my housemates has been absolutely heartbreaking, especially as I have had such an amazing time this year with some really brilliant people. I really hate saying goodbye and I really can't believe that these three years have gone by so quickly and I'm not ready to let it all go yet.

Luckily there are a couple of us still around and we have been making the most of our freedom with lots of yummy food and plenty of Pimms.. there really is nothing better in the sunshine! I am planning to spend a lot of time in the park picnicking too, a cheap way to have fun and use up all of the food from my fridge too :P
You may have seen my tweet about finding a grey bag and let me tell you, it was next to impossible. I have a pair of grey shoes that go with pretty much everything and have never found a bag to match them until now! After a morning traipsing around Leamington,  I finally managed to track down this beauty in Miss Selfridge. It is the perfect size and can be used for day or night so I am really pleased with it! I am hoping to wear this for the Aussie party next Saturday, are any of you going?

(♥)
I also managed to meet up with SarahHannah and  Hannah's friend for coffee today and it was lovely to see them again, even if we still didn't take any photos! I have been slowly working my way through Sex and the City too, as the episodes are only half an hour or so I can watch quite a few a day! That and The Sims 3 have been taking up my time recently, perfect for relaxing on the sofa with!

How do you cope with saying goodbye? What is the best way to relax?

P.S. Are any of you going to the Aussie party? What are you wearing?
