Hot pink...

This top has been a long-term tenant in my wardrobe and yet it has only featured in a handful of outfits. I think the fact that it is so pink means that I shy away from it, which is strange when you consider how much I like colour! I have actually worn the top and trousers together before for work but I wanted to make it 'weekend appropriate' so I added my new favourite necklace and shoes.

Top: Principles at Debenhams, jacket: M&S via charity shop, trousers: Zara, shoes: Deena & Ozzy at Urban Outfitters, necklace: Dainty Roses.
My hair desperately needs a cut at the moment but I don't know whether to have it cut a bit shorter for the summer? Although at the rate the weather is going at the moment, I'm going to have to dig out my thermals instead! Luckily the lining of my jacket matched the top perfectly :)

These shoes are lovely too and despite them being new I haven't had any blisters so fingers crossed that this continues! I bought these as a replacement for my beloved nude shoes as they are close to falling apart and they go with so many of my outfits so I figured a replacement had to be found pretty pronto! The scalloped edge is just perfect too and adds a bit of interest to an otherwise basic shoes.

You can see how cold it is as my feet are a funny purple colour...how attractive! :P

I will be featuring this necklace in my week in photos as it is seriously the best thing ever...keep your eyes peeled!

What do you wear on the weekend? Do you ever get back-ups for your favourite clothes or shoes?

I LOVE that top! The colour is so stunning and really pops on your outfit - you've styled it really well! It suits you, too. Definitely wear it more often.

Shoes, pretty. Trousers, lovely. Top, gorgeous. Jacket, amazing. In short I really, really love this whole ensemble. Looks gorgeous. I know what you mean about an item being a bit too much, but loving the pink paired with more muted tones.

I'm loving the pink top. We need an injection of colour on these not so summery days.

Today my weekend attire has consisted of combats, an old t-shirt and trainers as I was meant to be cutting my granny's hedge!!! However the cutting was rained off so I changed into something a little more fashionista for dinner out!

Have a great weekend.

Really do love the top. And how perfect that the lining of the jacket goes so well with the top. I need more proper trousers now, after seeing yours. They look so sophisticated. I'm on the lookout for something to replace jeans over the 'summer'.

Ooo, clever you got a back up for shoes. My dad bought me 2 of the same pair of shoes once, for when 1 falls apart, lol.

That top is gorgeous! What a great colour! Love those shoes too - I'm very impressed with any footwear that doesn't rub, but the fact that they're pretty too? Very impressive indeed!

That jacket and top are pretty much perfect together! :)

If I find I'm wearing something a lot, I sometimes go back and buy it again, so that I won't be disappointed when it wears out. When I don't, I always always regret it!!

That top is lovely! I sometimes shy away from pink too...I'm afraid of looking a bit 'barbie-ish' haha. I think a textured bob would look great on you x

wow, dya know what i think with such a brave pink choice it totally can go one way or the other. most people get hot pink so damn wrong and look like barbie, or elle woods. (not a great look, methinks)
however this is just brilliant and the way you've styled it works so so well. i've actually come back and read this post like 3 times now for inspiration on how to wear such a colour. you look super stylish, so on trend and absolutely beautiful.
i think you really have a natural eye for styling colour like that.
seriously love it maria!! xxx
