Shades of beige...

This outfit was a bit of a departure from my usual style of clashing prints and bright colours but sometimes it's nice to do something a little unexpected... I always associate beige with luxury and wealth, maybe because only rich people can afford to travel in limousines to keep it clean?! ;) The object of my affection though is a gorgeous jumper from my old favourite Miss Selfridge. I usually shy away from jumpers as I get warm easily but the gorgeous detailing on this made me change my mind. I paired it with these 'winter' shorts from H&M to add some texture and to add a bit of contrast with the colour

Top/jumper: Miss Selfridge, shorts: H&M, shoes: Dorothy Perkins, bag: vintage via The Clothes Show
The jumper is a lovely lightweight knit [I want to say gauge knit but I don't know if this is right Kristabel?!] and I have barely taken it off as it is so comfy. It is fitted enough that I don't feel too schlumpy but loose enough to wear on those days when I want to be comfortable. Apologies for the slightly awkward shot, there weren't many photos where you could actually see the design on the top!

I decided to keep my make-up quite natural to match the nude tones of the jumper. I recently replenished my supply of 'Peach Melba' blush from Natural Collection and it is seriously the only colour I want to wear at the moment. I am now on the hunt for the perfect peachy lipstick to match and so far the Allure shade by Poppy King for No. 7 is in the lead...

This bag is such a lovely nude shade too but it has one little problem. I bought it from the vintage section at The Clothes Show and as it is (obviously) second hand it has a old lady kinda smell which refuses to budge despite the copious amounts of perfume I have sprayed into it. Do you guys have any tips for de-musting vintage bags or clothing?

What clothes would tempt you out of your comfort zone? How would you get rid of the musty smell my bag has?

P.S. I don't know if any of you are going to the New Look press day today but if you are please come and say hi as I am super nervous about it! :)

I really love the jumper! I always like the things that people bought ages ago...haha. I'm wearing a very similar outfit today actually, sometimes it's nice to be all neutral for a change eh!

That jumper looks lovely. I tend to stay away from beige, i always feel like an overstuffed sausage in it lol

Good luck with the press day, you'll be fine. Can't wait to hear about it

For the bag, maybe just air it out for a while. So open it up and just leave it outside. Hopefully the musty smell should go.

Love this nude based outfit. The jumper looks so comfy. I love knitted jumpers.
Those shorts look amazing.

Ah man, love the jumper it's gorgeous.

Out of my comfort zone is bright colours. It's not that I don't like them, it's just I worry they're a bit too "look at me" and although I wouldn't say I'm shy, I kind of like not being noticed too much wandering down a street or whatever. I keep seeing lovely zara trousers though....

That jumper is lovely, this outfit would look gorgeous with a pop of bright peachy lipstick!
I tend to avoid beige/cream/white clothes because I know I would just end up spilling something down the front and ruining it!

Oh I really love this outfit, the beige colours are really lovely. Also totally know what you mean about that old lady vintage smell but it's definitely worth bearing with it because that bag is great!

You look amazing with a nude palette - I love everything about this outfit. I don't know what would help with the bag though, maybe clean the lining really carefully, or just febreeze the heck out of it... xoxo

For vintage stuff, I usually febreeze it and if possible turn it inside out and hang it outside for a day. Usually works for me!
Trousers are out of my comfort zone, but I've found the perfect pair of cargo ish chino ish navy ones from Topshop, and I think I love them because they're a flattering slightly baggy fit and comfy to wear. Xx
