Flamenco inspired...

Another day, another treasure unearthed from a box. I have had this skirt since my 16th birthday and is one of those pieces that feels comfortable, whatever the occasion. It has been to Italy with me, various family meals, university and now work. It is definitely one of those pieces that I would never get rid of as it just holds so many memories! The shape and style always remind me of the dresses that flamenco dancers (or at least the ones in films) wear.

Skirt: Pepe Jeans via House of Fraser, top: Primark, cardigan: Peacocks, shoes:Dorothy Perkins
This top is another treasure, I bought it from Primark when I was doing my internship with the Civil Service, it is scary to think that that was 2 (!) years ago, doesn't time fly?! It has just the right amount of detailing in the form of a slight peplum hem and 2 little bows on the front and the black helps to tone down the more colourful aspects of my wardrobe!

Unfortunately I am not blessed with Mediterranean colouring, despite my name so I played up my ghostly white face porcelain skin with red lipstick and some smudgy black eyeliner.

Beautiful embroidery and colours, I dread to think how much work went into sewing all of this as it is beautifully finished!

What has taken you through big changes? Which clothes hold the most memories for you?

Aaw the skirt is so pretty. Loving the whole look. And med colouring is all fine and good, but trust me, it's not all godly colours. I look NASTY in yellow. And pale blues/purples. Oh and orange. I look horrendous in orange... So olive skin and dark eyes is all well and good, but it has draw backs.

Anyway, you look lovely querida mia. Loving it.

This skirt is so pretty and colourful, I love that you've kept it so long :) I'm also very pale but don't think I can pull red lipstick off as well as you! x

That skirt is lovely! Such fantastic colours. You look beautiful. My taste in clothes as a teenager was pretty awful so I haven't really kept much, I do have a couple of formal dresses that I keep at the back of my wardrobe just in case I need to go somewhere fancy though xo

such pretty detail on the skirt! None of my old clothes fit me anymore but I have the dress I came home from the hospital in as a baby and my summer ball dress from uni.
I always clear out my wardrobe and don't keep much which is a shame really, there are a few dresses I wish I still had x

That skirt is so beautiful, you look lovely :) I can't think of any clothes off hand that hold any special memories - might have a route around and see if I can uncover some though!

You look beautiful here! This sort of modern 50's silhouette & styling suits you perfectly, you always look so put together & elegant! That red colour is amazing on you too, I always think it looks so good on people of your colouring, dark hair / fair skin, though I'm the same & yet it looks awful on me! Weird!

The detailing on the skirt is really gorgeous. And I like the English Rose look - maybe because I'm pale too!

The embroidery on the skirt is gorgeous, it looks so pretty. I love full skirts like that, I wish I had some more of them in my wardrobe!
I am so bad at keeping clothes because of the sentimental value, even if they don't fit me or I don't wear them any more. I've got no space left for clothes I do actually wear haha!

For a moment then I thought your post title was FLORENCE INSPIRED, and I got hugely excited. And then deflated, when I realised it wasn't. Then excited again when I saw your gorgey face! 6 daysssss! :D

Anyway, enough of the fangirling, I love it when you find old gems of clothes which bring back memories, and this one is lovely! Especially with the dash of red lippie too, ooh lala.
