#AmyandGarrygetmarried... (PICTURE HEAVY)

As you may have seen from the many messages on Twitter and Instagram, the lovely Amy and Garry got married at the weekend and it was just the most wonderful day. The reception was held at Lamb's Tavern in Leadenhall Market and you couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location. I was so thrilled to be invited to the wedding and we had the best time- blogger friends really are the best! I never had many girl friends growing up but blogging has given me some amazing, smart and beautiful women that I am proud to call my friends and being part of their lives is an amazing thing.

I mean, just look at that beautiful ceiling!

You can't beat a cobbled street either...

Sadly all of our photos from the evening came out pretty blurry but you can definitely feel the love here- the lovely couple during their first dance. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried, Amy just looked so beautiful and I can't resist a couple in love!

There was lots of dancing...

Image from the lovely Sarah
...especially with this beautiful lady! Sarah is one of my favourite ever blogger friends and it is so nice to spend the evening with someone you just click so well with.

Unfortunately none of these photos were in focus but I think you can see how much Mark and I were enjoying ourselves!

The books hanging from the ceiling were amazing too- I just wish you could pull them down to read!

I really loved this starry ceiling, I just need to persuade Mark that we can paint ours like this!

As the evening went on, we went down into the depths of Old Tom's bar, named after a gander who escaped slaughter in the early 1880s and lived to the grand old age of 37- not bad for a goose!

This rather cute 'Shanghai Shaun' the sheep provided much hilarity throughout the evening, as well as plenty of photo opportunities!

You may recognise the wonderful work of  the very talented Sarah here too. We all added our fingerprints to this beautiful illustration rather than signing a guest book- isn't this such a lovely idea?!

This garden was tucked in by the New Court and was so beautiful. We did try and get some pictures in front of it but as it was a bank, a security guard told us that taking photos was forbidden and we had to scarper!

I have to say, the City is not an area of London that I know very well but it is absolutely beautiful, even if everything is shut at the weekend!

Dress: Coast, shoes: New Look, bag: ASOS
I wore this beautiful Coast Kampia dress (which is now on sale for £19!) along with my bargain New Look shoes and ASOS bag. Coast make the most beautiful dresses and are my 'go to' for occasion wear although I realised that I had committed a bit of a faux pas when I got to the wedding as they dress was a similar colour to the bridesmaids' ones- oops!

I fell in love with the inky blue/violet of this dress and these gorgeous embroidered flowers. As the dress was so elaborate, I kept my hair and make-up pretty simple and went for Essie 'Spin the Bottle' on my nails which may be my perfect nude shade!

We stayed at London Central Bank Travelodge which was gorgeous- way prettier than your average and super convenient too! The City may not be your first choice of places to stay but it was beautiful and it is pretty darned fun to wander around and pretend you are rich enough to live there!

Flamenco inspired...

Another day, another treasure unearthed from a box. I have had this skirt since my 16th birthday and is one of those pieces that feels comfortable, whatever the occasion. It has been to Italy with me, various family meals, university and now work. It is definitely one of those pieces that I would never get rid of as it just holds so many memories! The shape and style always remind me of the dresses that flamenco dancers (or at least the ones in films) wear.

Skirt: Pepe Jeans via House of Fraser, top: Primark, cardigan: Peacocks, shoes:Dorothy Perkins
This top is another treasure, I bought it from Primark when I was doing my internship with the Civil Service, it is scary to think that that was 2 (!) years ago, doesn't time fly?! It has just the right amount of detailing in the form of a slight peplum hem and 2 little bows on the front and the black helps to tone down the more colourful aspects of my wardrobe!

Unfortunately I am not blessed with Mediterranean colouring, despite my name so I played up my ghostly white face porcelain skin with red lipstick and some smudgy black eyeliner.

Beautiful embroidery and colours, I dread to think how much work went into sewing all of this as it is beautifully finished!

What has taken you through big changes? Which clothes hold the most memories for you?

I always feel incredibly lucky to be an Aussie Angel, they are a brand that not only have a great product but a fantastic PR team and I have made so many friends thanks to their wonderful events. Unfortunately my visit was short but sweet but I hope to see everyone soon! I met some lovely bloggers like Faye but unfortunately I don't have any pictures!

What would you have worn on the red carpet? Do you like blogger events?

P.S. I stole the majority of these photos from Aussie's Flickr page as I stupidly left my camera SD card at mark's house... DOH!

Heritage inspired...

This weekend I went to London for my baby cousin's christening and looking back at the photos of my outfit, it is very 'heritage inspired', something the magazines keep marking out as a 'key trend' for this A/W, and a trend I would happily buy into with it's rich colours and gorgeous textures...

Dress: Next via charity shop, tweed blazer: M&S via charity shop, fur stole: H&M, necklace: Accessorize, pewter bag: Star by Julien Macdonald via Mum, pewter shoes: Oasis via Mum

I chose this dress as the length ensured it was church (and family appropriate) as well as being ridiculously comfortable! I don't have many dresses that are both dressy and long so this one tends to get wheeled out whenever I need something that looks more dressed up than one of my usual floral dresses...

Please excuse the silly pose, I was trying to get my bag and shoes into the same shot because I thought my brother was zoomed in... unfortunately he wasn't and I just look like a fool...

This, for me, is what Autumn is all about, luxe colours and a multitude of textures. This faux fur collar has to be one of my favourite things to wear at the moment. I kept my eye out for a vintage one but after stroking this silky soft one in H&M the other week, I was sold! Keep your eyes peeled for more outfit posts with it in, coming your way very soon...

A picture of the bag in slightly more detail. Please excuse my huge man hands! I love this bag and despite it being extremely small, it was perfect for carrying the essentials and matched perfectly with the shoes... I love it when an outfit comes together!

What would you wear to a christening? Do you like the heritage trend?

This week has been...full of ups and downs...

As you may know, I have been taking part in the Aussie 'lighter life' challenge and this Saturday I attended a bootcamp day with some lovely Angels at the Reebok gym in Canary Wharf. I thought it would be a day of fun and games but, whilst I enjoyed the exercise we did, the yoga was more intense than I anticipated and 'Gymanda' certainly put us through our paces! When I got there though, I tucked into a yummy breakfast of strawberries, blueberries and pomegranate. I have been trying to eat more healthily recently and my fridge has been stocked with fruit and veg rather than crisps and chocolate!

Luckily I won the giveaway at the lovely Lily's blog and won some yummy '9 bars' which I have absolutely fallen in love with! They are really filling and packed full of seeds and nuts which always make me feel more healthy ;)

So far the nutty one is my favourite but the original also deserves a mention!

I am also indebted to the lovely Lil (who was also my exercise buddy on Saturday!) who introduced me to the infamous Hummingbird Bakery which completely negated any good done by the bootcamp day! I figure though, as long as I don't over indulge then I should stay on track for a lighter life this Spring!

The wrapping was SO beautiful that I didn't want to open it!
I also need to mention my most recent purchase. I bought a gorgeous red midi skirt from the lovely Jazmine but I'm struggling with how to style it...heels are a must but I'm not sure about the rest of the outfit which is where you lovely ladies come in! Any ideas about how to make me look chic rather than dumpy will be greatly appreciated and the best suggestion will have an outfit post dedicated to them ;)

In an ideal world this Danielle Scutt necklace would definitely feature...a girl can but dream! I mean what could be better than teapots and red lipstick?! I also LOVE this teapot ring... jewellery perfection!

I forgot to add that this is an EPIC hot chocolate with Malteasers, fudge sprinkles, marshmallows, whipped cream... it's basically heaven in a mug!

A special mention has to go to my friends Ian and George this week, who have made me feel a lot less stressed about the dreaded exam season and the revision it entails. I mean what could be better than days spent chatting and doing  walrus impressions with chopsticks?! [I'm afraid I don't actually have photos of this rather amazing occurrence! ] It was just what I needed after another week of illness and stress too :)

What have you done to cheer yourself up this week? Have you done any window shopping recently?

P.S. Posting will probably be a bit more sporadic over the next couple of weeks as I have my finals coming up [eek!] so my focus is (temporarily) away from the blog :)
