Leather and lace...

OOER missus- judging by the title I think I may get a fair few odd search terms now but oh well! As soon as it started to get cold again, I dug out these fab leather trousers/waxed jeans and some thin and cosy layers to ease me into winter. This jumper is such a gorgeous turquoisey teal shade but it hasn't translated very well in the pictures which is a bit rubbish. (#bloggerwinterwoes) It reminded me of a sequinned jumper which I wanted from Hobbs at the beginning of the year but luckily was much cheaper- I love supermarket clothes!

Jumper: Tu at Sainsburys, top: Primark, trousers:River Island, shoes:  Best Mountain flat shoes c/o Spartoo, glasses: Gok Wan from Specsavers
As you may have noticed, I am now the proud owner of some very snazzy glasses! After being told that my prescription had changed, I decided that some new frames were in order and Claire and Jen provided some much needed inspiration for my new frames. (I have to say how much I love Jen's make-up classes for girls with glasses, if you're a specs wearer, check them out!) They have taken a while to get used to but I am already loving how different I look in each pair (review of these lovelies to come soon!) I was really surprised by how much I loved the Gok Wan range and found it difficult to narrow it down to just 2 pairs!

I love the different layers and textures in this outfit and sequinned jumpers will always be A-OK with me...

Finished with an impulse buy which have turned out to be surprisingly versatile. These lovely shoes were a Spartoo bargain that I have ended up loving. Grey shoes are incredibly versatile and they have been great for introducing a subtle splash of animal print into my wardrobe (I think that may be one of my resolutions next year!)

Who is your glasses inspiration? How do you incorporate print into your wardrobe?

Leopard print loafers...

It has been a while since I last wore this dress, it is too nice to wear for everyday really but I wore it out for a meal with my best friend and her fiancé (I still haven't got used to saying that!) to celebrate my recent promotion. You may have seen my excitement over on Twitter last Monday and honestly I am beyond pleased, I have only been at my job for 5 months so to have that kind of recognition is a really big deal for me, especially as I worry so much! I am now a marketing executive (!!) and one step closer to ruling the world...

Dress: Motel, necklace: Accessorize,  flat shoes: Clarks c/o Spartoo
I love this dress as it is so low maintenance and requires very little embellishment, the gorgeous jewel colour speaks for itself, but this brown stone necklace helped to pick up the colour of the shoes...

I LOVE the waistline detail on this dress!
And what beautiful shoes they are! I think every blogger and their dog has these leopard print loafers but after I unwrapped them, I could definitely see why. They are ridiculously comfy and look way more expensive than the price suggests, especially when you know that they are designed to last. Recently I have found that my feet simply cannot cope with ill-fitting shoes and I'm glad that brands like Clarks are making more fashionable footwear than I remember from school!

Please ignore my legs, my mosquito bites from holiday still haven't healed, stupid diabetes!
For someone who first wore leopard print just over a year ago, I am amassing quite a collection,  I was always put off by the potential tackiness of leopard print but I guess never say never!

What have you been celebrating recently? Are you a fan of leopard print?

Cream lace and studded shoes...

Can you say cliché?! This outfit looks like every festival inspired look or 'ways to toughen up a pretty dress' post that you have ever read but oh well! My new boots arrived at the weekend and I couldn't have been happier. I have been looking for some black ankle boots for ages and these ones are lovely- the leather is so soft and the studs are very subtle and perfect for adding a bit of interest to a more practical shoe...

Dress: Forever 21, belt:ribbon, shoes: Betty London from Spartoo
I wore this dress to celebrate my Grandad's birthday and although it was perhaps a silly idea to wear a cream dress when eating curry, I did appreciate the elasticated waistline ;) A new photo location too, my grandparents really do have a beautiful garden...

I love the wooden heels on these boots, I do wish they were slighter higher but actually, being flat, they will be much more practical once the weather gets worse.

For now though, I will enjoy wearing impractical clothing in the last of the sunshine...
OH HAI beautiful new ankle boots
I would never have usually chosen boots like this in the past but recently I have found myself drawn to things that are slightly edgier than I would usually pick and these boots are a perfect example of how my style has changed since I started blogging.

How has your style changed? Have you been making the most of the sunshine?

Aussie virtual styling class... (PICTURE HEAVY)

On Wednesday night, myself and other Aussie Angels had a virtual styling class with the wonderful stylist Eugene with the opportunity to ask questions as the session progressed. I was unsure how well this would work but I actually really enjoyed it and it was good to see how the hairstyle could be adapted to suit different hair types. The style I was attempting to follow was a textured side plait and I took pictures as the class progressed . Please excuse blurry pictures/gormless expressions...

MAJOR hair envy. Picture c/o Aussie.

Au naturel hair after a day at work...

I decided to brush out my curls (a very rare occurrence!) in order to make my hair a bit easier to work with.

Newly smooth waves!

Aussie curl defining and shine mousse. I have always been a bit wary of using mousse, memories of crispy haired girls at school always put me off but this smells amazing (like all Aussie products) and actually sank into my hair nicely...

WHAT.A.GORM.
The amount I used for my hair.

Softly defined curls...

A quick spritz with the Hi-Hold, Hi-Shine hairspray to keep the curls in place... I HATE the smell of hairspray so the smell of this (kind of fruity?)  is a welcome change from the usual synthertic smell and it manages to tame my unruly mane...win win!

Sweep your curls over to one side...

Plait your hair into a chunky side braid...

Secure with a bobby pin...

Despair at the amount of hair that has fallen out on the one side...

There was plenty of texture in this bad boy!

Twist it up and pin it underneath for an interesting textured bun.

TA-DA!

I loved the idea of the styling session and I found it very easy to follow even if the finished product didn't look half as good. Thank you Aussie for another fab event for us Angels to try!

Would you wear a chunky braid? How do you style your hair?

A Sarenza Ambassador? Yes please!

The thing is, I probably already have too many shoes but there is always room for one more pair and when they look this good, I'd definitely make room! Looking through at the pairs I have shortlisted, you can spot a clear theme....

Jeffrey Campbell Swansong Floral Wedges

Jeffrey Campbell Situation

Mellow Yellow Klodete

Carvela Amass
Georgia Rose Fline

Jeffrey Campbell Papillon
Chipie Fetice

Irregular Choice- I'm from the future

Who knew there were so many gorgeous red shoes?!

I think though, if I had to choose my favourite pair, it would be these...

Feud Grenade
...not for me but my lovely boyfriend Mark who does so much for me and the blog and who desperately needs a new pair of shoes!

Go on Sarenza, help a girl out?

Which shoes do you like best? Have you used Sarenza before?
