Introducing...#AussieShineMonday

So you may have heard a few whispers already but Aussie are introducing a new range designed to maximise the shine in your aussome 'do, filled with Australian Ginseng extract and Pearl powder. The best bit about these though is definitely the smell. Who wouldn't want their hair to smell like 'cotton candy'?! Even the classic 3 minute miracle has been given a makeover...

Yes, that is an Aussie bathrobe...


The lovely Eugene did my hair for me again and I absolutely LOVED the style. I had a thick braid coiled around my forehead, another around the back of my head with the rest of my hair curled and loosely pinned, I only wish I had been going out afterwards as this hair was hot to trot! 


Unfortunately my hair styling skills leave a lot to be desired but Eugene has inspired me to be a bit more adventurous with my hair, definitely something to try when I go out for my birthday!

Happy Aussie-versary!

There's nothing better than getting parcels through the post and I was lucky enough to receive one from Aussie yesterday. The mix of things perfectly reflected the theme of 'any excuse to party' and really put a smile on my face so thank you Emma and Holly! :) 

What  parcel could be better than party poppers and popping candy?
Aussie always have the best ideas and parties and now you can get involved! You may have noticed the special limited edition bottles of shampoo and my beloved 3 Minute Miracle in the photos and these are to celebrate this year's 'Aussie-versary'. Aussie are offering you the chance to receive some product and to join the Aussie Angels at the Summer Party in October. 


Up to seven of you lovely ladies (or gents!) can win and to enter, you just have to tell me what you are celebrating right now, however big or small it is. Maybe, like me, you have got a new job or found the perfect shade of purple nail varnish (Model's Own Purple Grey FYI) and you want to celebrate. Either write a blog post and tweet @YummyHair or simply comment on this post :) 

I have heard of having two left feet but I apparently have two right feet :P

Graduate seeking job...


The sun is out, Easter is nearly here, it can only mean one thing...yes exam time is here again! As a finalist, the exams this year have added weight, not because they are worth any more but rather because I know that I have to do well and I have to get a job. There's no doubt about it, the job market is pretty dire for graduates but there is a shiny job out there, waiting for me, right? As the end of the years draws ever closer, this is clearly not the case. Beth and Carla have written about trying to find a job in the past and the truth is a degree isn't the 'golden ticket' it may once have been. I have applied to countless jobs and heard back from about 2, telling me that I was unsuccessful. But what can I do? 

For me, half of the difficulty lies with choosing which jobs to apply for. I know that if my heart's not in it, the people reading my application form will be able to tell. Is it better for me to apply to hundreds of jobs willy nilly or to try and be more focused in the hope that quality not quantity will prevail? I have always wanted a job that 'made a difference' as corny as that sounds and I whilst I will be a Warwick graduate, I really don't think I'm cut out for the frenetic pace of life in the City like many of my peers. Since writing this blog I have looked into pursuing a more creative path as I really enjoy the process of writing, research and photography that goes towards creating a blog post. My biggest worry is whether  I want to 'taint' what is a creative outlet, by doing it for a living. For me, my blog is an escape and I don't know if I want to mix work and play!

I guess what I am trying to say is that I am trying to navigate the murky waters of graduation and beyond. It is scary stuff and I am utterly terrified about life after university but I guess as long as I stay positive and get as much work experience as possible then anything is possible right? This is a bit of a rambly post and I apologise, I guess I am trying to work out the best direction for me to take next and any help would be greatly appreciated!
