Owl city

I love it when two of my favourite pieces of clothing go together and recently I have been pairing my beloved owl top with my new favourite skirt. I like how this outfit isn't too 'out there' but the skirt gives it more of a 'fashiony' twist. [Am I talking rubbish?!] The yellowy brown of the stone adds to the rather muted feel of this... I feel like I should be wearing this coral jacket with it, if only I hadn't left it at uni... I wore a  variation of this outfit a couple of weeks ago when I met up with the gorgeous Winnie in Birmingham except I swapped the accessories for my nude flats and a cream skinny belt, perfect for a day of shopping! ;)
Top: Zara, skirt: Miss Selfridge, belt: H&M, shoes:  Dorothy Perkins
The one issue I had with this outfit though was the fact that I think this belt is too wide. I thing a skinny belt would have looked better but unfortunately this is the skinniest tan belt that I own! I really think that photographing outfits can really give you a clear idea of what works and what could be tweaked. I can't imagine what people do if they don't blog, haha!

I love how my hair has completely obscured my face here! This gives you a better idea of what I look like head on! This skirt makes me look quite 'hippy' (not in a groovy baby kinda way!) but I love it too much to care!

None of the photos I took show it very well but I am wearing my newest lipstick, Power by Poppy King for No. 7. I bought this with my No. 7 voucher and although I wouldn't pay £12 for it, I have been impressed, the colour is a gorgeous pink raspberry and the formula was super moisturising.

OOTD: Outtake of the day goes to this beauty of me falling over whilst trying to take a picture. I love the random plantpots we have scattered around our garden too...
Do you use photos to help you style outfits? What is your most versatile outfit?

what is it with owls being all over the place a the minute, especially on jewellery. I don't mind though because they're cute and this top is no exception, I love it!!! You're looking really great in these pictures =)

I love this outfit, very understated but feminine. The hem length is fantastic. I totally agree with you about photos helping - since I started blogging I've been far more aware of how my clothes fall and what shapes work best for me xoxo

Ooo, the skirt looks fabulous! I quite like it with a thick belt: it gives a good look to the skirt.
I definitely look at photos to see my outfits and see what I can change.

I love the shoulders on that top and the skrit it cool. Classic and on trend without being fashiony - fab. I think it looks great with the belt in the picture it adds a clear deffinition between you top and skirt and shows off that fantastic waist.
